TAGGED: This-Is-My-Truth-Now

The lovely Abbey @ Three Cats and a Girl tagged me in this challenge a while ago but I never got around to it until now! Go check out her blog! She’s way more dedicated to this than me and posts some awesome things. (:

Welp, here goes!

Truth:

1. You’re on your way to a birthday dinner that your friends have thrown for you. When you arrive, your favorite author is having dinner by himself or herself and asks you to sit with them, before you even see your friends or they see you. You have two choices: (1) You can sit with the author, but can’t tell your friends that you’ve abandoned them for three hours, or (2) Meet your friends and lose the only chance you’ll ever have to talk with the author. Pick one or the other — no exceptions or communication to your friends to tell them about the author — and explain why:

I don’t even know if I have a favorite author! I don’t really ever think about the author too much after I read a book! Does that sound weird? I guess if I do think about meeting an author, it’s because I want them to tell me more about what happened after the end of the book! So, all that being said, if the author of Arena (Karen Hancock) asked me to have dinner with her, I would say yes because I really want to talk to her about Arena and the ending. I think 80% of my friends have read Arena, so I think they’d be okay with it – especially if I told them what she told me! If it was any other author, I’d probably pick my friends!

2. You’ve got an opportunity to spend a few hours alone “in your bedroom” with a character from any book you’ve previously read. The character tells you that (s)he would like to lock the door and spend some alone time with you. What book and character is it, and do you decide to enter the room and lock the door, or tell them you aren’t interested?

I’d say, “Um no, but how about we hang out somewhere with more people because you’re my favorite character and I love you!” If they wouldn’t hang out like that, they’d have to get the boot! Only one person is ever gonna be “in my bedroom” with me and that’d be the future husband, soooooo…

3. If you could turn any male character from one of your favorite books into a female character (or change a female into a male) in the book or book series, which one and why? (Spoilers possibly!)

So, if we could make a copy of the book and then switch the gender’s, I like that idea, but I want the original copy with the original people’s genders! So, if switching the genders makes it a separate book, I’d like to switch the Glader’s gender in The Maze Runner. If you’ve never read it, the Glader’s are a group of boys who were sent to live in a maze and, one day, a girl shows up and they forced to find the exit of the maze and finally get out! I think it would be really interesting to see how the story would go if the genders were switched. Disclaimer: you find out later there is a second group and a second maze with all girls and a boy shows up, so the switched genders exists, but isn’t really talked about.

4. What blogger currently on your follower’s list (meaning they follow you too) do you admire the most and why?

So I have two followers, which doesn’t give me a whole lot of options, but that’s okay! I was gonna pick Abbey anyway! This girl is my best friend and I love her! She’s so fiery, spunky, crazy and I’m super thankful to know her! She’s a knitting, crocheting, and blogging fiend and she’s wonderful! 🙂 Love you girl!

5. If you could change any one decision your favorite book character made, what would it be and why?

If you haven’t been able to tell from my blog title, I’m kind of obsessed with Narnia. That being said, I would change Susan Pevensie’s decision to stop believing in Narnia. She was one of the original four from The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and, in The Last Battle, we find out that she stopped believing in Narnia. This made me sooo sad and I wish I could change her decision so that she could spend eternity with her family in Aslan’s Country!

6. If you could pick 1 character from a book and 1 character from a TV show you watch (that is NOT based on a book) to be in a relationship together, who would you choose, and why?

Ahhh! I literally can’t think of anyone! The only thing I can think of right now is putting Katniss Everdeen and The Green Arrow aka Oliver Queen together. But that’s literally only because they’re both incredible with a bow and arrow! I hate to take Katniss away from Peeta, but I think Katniss and Oliver could work through their terrible experiences together – Katniss in the Arena and Oliver on Lian Yu. I also have many reasons why this pairing wouldn’t work, but I’m just ignoring those right now.

(P.S. The Green Arrow is a comic book character but I decided it doesn’t count as a book in this instance, especially since I haven’t read the comics!)

7. It’s your last day on Earth. As you are about to cross that final finish line, a mysterious shadow appears, giving you a choice: (1) You can go move forward to whatever comes next for you [based on your own spiritual or religious beliefs], or (2) you can become a character in a book series and exist permanently doing whatever that author chooses to do with you in the book. Which do you choose, and if it’s option 2, reveal the book and author.

Being in a book sounds kinda fun, but I just read a book by Jodi Picoult that makes me say, “Nooooo!” fairly aggressively. (Between the Lines and Off the Page – You should read them!) Besides, when I die, I’m going to Heaven, where my friends and family will be, so that’s definitely my choice!! But thanks for asking!

8. If you could steal a pet from someone in any book you’ve read but had to replace it with a friend’s pet (meaning they wouldn’t ever see their pet again), would you do it? If so, explain the who and why.

Definitely not! I can’t even think of a pet someone has had in a book that I would want to steal. All my friends can keep their pets!

9. If you could turn someone from your real life into a character from a book, who from your life, who in the book and why?

I’m putting one of the guys I know in as Pierce in Arena by Karen Hancock! (If you couldn’t tell, this is a great book – go read it!) When I first read the book, the physical description reminded me of this friend and, as I read further and learned about his strength and character, Pierce reminded me of this friend even more.  (I’m keeping his name a secret in case he ever reads this!)

10. Post a picture of the cover of a book you read in 2000 and the book you are currently reading now. (Note: if you weren’t alive in 2000, pick the first book you ever read and tell everyone what year it was from).

Oh my, I can hardly remember what I was reading when I was 5! I do rememberImage result for nil lynne matson cover one of my favorite books when I was younger was The Grumpy Bunny Goes to School by Justine Korman so we’ll go with that!

Currently, I’m reading Nil by Lynne Matson. I actually just started it today!

11. Your favorite character (under 18) needs a place to stay for 3 months and asks you if (s)he could stay in your spare room (yes, you have one for the sake of this question). Who is it and what is the reason (s)he needs to stay with you?

Any of the Pevensies (Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy) are under eighteen in The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe are under 18 and any one of them (or all of them) are more than welcome to stay with me! I’d imagine they’d be staying with me to be away from the war (assuming that they’re staying at my house during the time in which the book takes place, ie. World War 2)!

12. What is one superpower/magic skill that a favorite character of your has that you wish you had as well? What character, what power/skill and why?(you can change this question when added to your blog, but please let me know your answer to this question in the comments below)

Oooh! This is a good question! I think I want the magical skill of Hermione Granger! Magic is almost limitless in the world of Harry Potter and I could use magic to clean my house, because I hate cleaning! Hah! I would also really like to be able to use the spell Accio on a regular basis. (For the muggles, that spell summons something to you from anywhere!)
